Went in for a hip replacement operation on 10th March - was very impressed by the care during and after the operation, which went very well. Particularly impressed with the post-op physiotherapy provided. Would definitely recommend to others.
From the moment that I was referred to the Spire Hospital at Washington I was impressed with their work.
The hospital itself lived up to expectations in facilities and staff.
The surgeon was excellent. All of the staff from the reception and admin staff to the ward staff - the nurses and housekeeping were polite, cheerful and attentive. The Physio Therapy dept has also proved to be excellent.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hospital if asked.
from the cleaners to nurses all were very friendly and nothing was any trouble
felt like a king
all the staff I met while in hospital were absolute professionals ... It's difficult to improve on perfection
Went to The Spire at Washington for hip surgery on 2nd Feb 2015, had my own spotless room Staff were always on call, very attentive and the food was excellent.
This hospital was very nice staff were very polite and easy to talk to very clean and welcoming
I have recently had a total knee replacement and am due to have the second one in the near future.
Every member of staff at The Spire is to be commended on an excellent level of care throughout. From waiting times for appointments, to waiting for appointments - all is minimal compared to my other experiences of hospitals. As an in-patient undergoing surgery, there is nothing I would change.
I have been treated throughout with the greatest of respect and the highest quality of care. Everything was clean and comfortable.
I found that I was well informed at every stage of the process and staff were also reassuring, supportive and encouraging when I found things a little tough following surgery.
I have no hesitation in recommending everyone at The Spire - the people make the place what it is!
I have recently had an appointment at the Spire Washington hospital with one of the management team to try and sort out a problem i had with one of the consultants .
I found this person very unhelpful and she actually threatened me with the police because i would not remove a negative comment about The Spire Washington Hospital i had left on a web site .
I was quite shaken by this threat of police action for merely expressing my freedom of speech and freedom to criticize .
Trying to scare patients this way by telling them it is a crime to criticize their services is not good practice .
I would not recommend the Spire Washington hospital to anyone .
I spent two days at Spire Hospital Washington, with a hip replacement operation. The care I received from all staff involved in my wellbeing was of a very high standard. There is no doubt in my mind that this will be my choice of hospital when my second hip replacement is required.
Admin staff great, clean and pleasant hospital but did not think much of Dr Longstaff's attitude or his manner with patients.
